Multi-millionaire rap, fashion and sports mogul Jay Z has proven he is still a man of the people, by taking the Tube to his latest gig at London’s O2 Arena. But even the most tedious journey can be made fun, if there are friends along and lucky for him, Mr Carter was joined on the way by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and collaborator Timbaland. Actually, it was probably lucky for the travelers on the tube that day as well, who will now, at the very least, get to brag that they’ve ridden in the same train car as Jay Z.

And, in the age of instant communication, the first (and sometimes second) hand accounts have already started flooding in, although the accounts do seem to vary. One user mentions Rihanna: “Jay-Z, Rihanna and Timberland all took the London Underground to their concert last night.... Love that.”
Another praises the rapper for going without any “bouncers,” although fan photos do seem to show several members of his entourage around. One user shared his exciting encounter right away: “What a riot... Just met Jay Z on the tube in London,” he said.

Others were less composed about the whole thing: “Seeing Jay Z on the tube getting mobbed arriving to O2!! #Buzzing Too starstruck to take a pic! #Jigga”
Well, it’s nice to know that even on a sold out, multi-million dollar world tour, Jay Z still finds time to connect with fans – even if he does take a sizeable entourage on the adventure.
