Jay-Z's still making music you know? Pretty good music at that. Magna Carta Holy Grail, his twelfth studio album, has become available to 1 million Samsung customers today (July 4, 2013) after a surprise announcement last month. Turns out, Hova has trumped his old pal Kanye West's Yeezus - so say the critics anyhow.

Steve Jones of USA Today says on Magna Carta, Jay-Z  "contemplates his fitness for fatherhood in light of having been raised without a father on Jay-Z Blue, and questions on Nickels and Dimes whether his charitable giving stems from genuine concern or guilt," adding, "He has fun, too. BBC is an old fashion posse cut with Nas, Beyonce, Swizz Beatz, Pharrell and Timberland. Elsewhere, he gets help from Justin Timberlake, Rick Ross and Frank Ocean."

Unsurprisingly, family, loyalty, spirituality and fame are key trends on Magna Carta and Jay-Z doesn't appear to have lost sight of his upbringing - this despite the fact the album will almost certainly go platinum. Oh, and he's married to Beyonce.

Non-Samsung users will have to wait until July 9, 2013, for the official release of Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail, though we're tipping it as one of the standout albums of 2013 already. Watch this space.
