Rapper Jay-Z randomly began to reply to fans questions on Monday after being largely inactive on his Twitter account for some time. Retweeting the fan questions and posting his own answers in square brackets, the 43 year-old rapper suggested he was responding truthfully by using the hastag '#factsonly' and creating his own version of the ubiquitous 'LOL', '#mylaugh', used to effect when he evidently thought he was being asked a silly question.

Married to singer Beyoncé with whom he has a one year-old daughter, Jay-Z is one of the most successful recording artists in the world, having recently released his latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail early to Samsung customers with availability to everyone else today (9th July). Using the initials of the album's title, '#MCHG', Jay-Z was able to receive the questions and reply whilst promoting his new record. He responded to questions from all over the world; from Finland to Kenya, and Nigeria to Australia and was online interacting with ecstatic fans for many hours. He addresses his shout-out to Miley Cyrus on track 'Somewhereinamerica' when prompted by a fan and declares when asked "do you think twerking should replace the electric slide at weddings?", "[Personally???YES.. Miley is a GOD]" and when asked by a fan if it's really him he says, "[well I am of course..FACTS only..]"

Jay-Z's album has been well received, but widely ranked as safe in comparison to the recent Yeezus release from Kanye West. The Washington Post grumbles over the corporate release of the album - Samsung released it a day early via an app after purchasing one million copies - citing the performer's famous age-old quote "I'm not a businessman/I'm a business, man" whilst stating it's the new Yorker's "blandest" offering: "There's no mood, no verve, no vision to this music. It's the sound of champagne being sprayed around an empty locker room."
