The master of hip-hop, Jay Z, was the feature of a new Vanity Fair cover story (Novemeber 2013 issue) and he got very personal discussing his rough upbringing, how he managed to catch the eye of Beyoncé and his daughter Blue Ivy, been daddy's No.1 fan.

His latest album 'Magna Carta' is apparently a big hit in the Jay Z house hold as he tells Vanity Fair [Blue Ivy] is only 18 months old and I don't play my music around the house. But this album was new, so we played it".

He added, "She loves all the songs. She plays a song and she goes, 'More, Daddy, more . Daddy song.' She's my biggest fan. If no one bought the Magna Carta [album], the fact that she loves it so much, it gives me the greatest joy."

The family man is a far cry away from the rappers humble upbringing and struggles he faced as a youth, he spoke about being a drug dealer in the past, "To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up. . At some point, you have to have an exit strategy, because your window is very small; you're going to get locked up or you're going to die."

Jay, also known as Shawn Carter, seemed to have a mind for business from an early age, even if it was to sell crack, he seemed to grasp a good strategy to make money. However, he did discuss if he felt bad dealing drugs, "Not until later, when I realized the effects on the community. I started looking at the community on the whole, but in the beginning, no.

He continued, "I was thinking about surviving. I was thinking about improving my situation. I was thinking about buying clothes".

Happier times were in the future for the '99 Problems' rapper as he met a young, very attractive singer called Beyoncé back in 2001 when she was in the girl group 'Destiny's Child'.

The 43 year-old spoke about trying to woo the 'Halo' singer "Well, you know, you've got to try first. You got to dazzle . wine and dine." "She's a charming Southern girl, you know, she's not impressed."

It defiantly worked as the couple married in 2008 and welcomed baby daughter, Blue Ivy, to the world on January 7th 2012.

Jay Z now 43, discussed if he still can continue in the rap world. He is developing a sports agency and other business adventures but can he still produce good music? "I know I said I wouldn't be doing it when I was 30, so that's how I know I love it. Thirty years old was my cutoff, but I'm still here, 43 years old."

It looks like Jay Z isn't going anywhere yet and coming off the success of his 12th studio album 'Magna Carta', which reached Platinum and was nominated for album of the year at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards, why would he even think about stopping?
