Jean Paul Gaultier thinks John Galliano needs to ''come back'' to fashion.

The French designer hopes the disgraced former Dior head - who was caught making anti-Semitic marks on a number of occasions while drunk - will be reinstated by The Fashion world at some point because he is ''super-talented''.

He said: ''I'm waiting for John to come back. Because he's super-talented and we love him. I think he cannot stop like that.''

However, Jean is happy with his replacement at Dior, Raf Simons because he thinks he is a very ''talented'' sartorialist.

He told Britain's InStyle magazine: ''It's the best idea to have Hedi Slimane for YSL - it's fabulous. And Raf Simons - he's so talented. When I saw his last collection for Jil Sander I thought, 'Ahh, he wants it! He will do it!' ''

Discussing who he has most liked dressing, Jean reveals British actress Gemma Arterton has been amongst his most favourite.

He said: ''Gemma Arterton is fabulous. I met her at Elton John's winter ball. She's great and I loved the Stephen Frears movie she was in, 'Tamara Drewe'.
