Channing Tatum's wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum, apparently used to be his ''sugar mama''. The Tatums met one another on the set of 2006's 'Step Up' and recently had a daughter, Everly, together. Channing Tatum is now a bit of a household name, but back in the days when he was struggling to pay his rent, Jenna was there for him. This led him to believe that she was the woman he was destined to spend his life with.

The 33-year-old star of the upcoming 'White House Down' took part in an interview with 'Elle' website, saying: ''I was broke and I couldn't pay my half of the rent when we were first together. She was basically my sugar mama for six months.'' He also relayed the story of a holiday the two shared in Hawaii, which tested and strengthened their relationship in its early days.

Magic Mike, the male stripper film which hit our screens last year, will have a sequel Channing Tatum revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. 

Tatum is unsure if director Steven Soderburgh, who directed the first Magic Mike film, will be returning for the sequel. He said Soderburgh "really wants to be done directing movies". This has raised the possibility that Tatum could step into the director's shoes as well as starring. He said he would "shoot the sequel" despite being nervous about doing so.

Channing Tatum discusses his secrets to a successful marriage in the current issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. The White House Down actor and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum have been together for almost eight years and will soon welcome their first child together.

"You have to want it," Tatum explained of the key to a happy marriage, "Jenna's and my thing is checking in with each other all the time, like 'On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you love me right now?' And you gotta be honest, and you've got to want an honest answer." Celebrity couples come and go and there's been a spate of high profile divorces in recent months - Tom Cruise, Courteney Cox, Mayim Bialik - though Tatum said it's important to stay grounded. "My friends keep me grounded. It's embarrassing to tell you how much my friends make fun of me," he said. "Seriously, when you have a doll made of your face, it's ridiculous how creative your friends can get...pictures, videos, little animated cartoons they've made. And they're way, way not PG-13. So I get chopped down to size all the time."

In Roland Emmerich's new movie White House Down, Tatum plays a capitol policeman who is forced to spring into action when a family tour of the White House is interrupted by a heavily armed group of paramilitary invaders. Also starring Jamie Foxx, the movie hits theaters on June 4, 2013.

The pair announced last month that they were expecting their first child, and with Tatum set to see four films with him hitting cinemas this year, they were clearly trying to make the most of their alone time together before the actors gets caught up in endless promotion and filming schedules.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum are expecting a baby! People magazine – who recently voted Channing the Sexiest man Alive – broke the news yesterday (December 17, 2012), after the couple’s rep confirmed they “are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year.” It’s no great surprise, as Channing revealed to the magazine fairly recently that both he and Jenna felt ready to start a family. “I’m ready; I think she’s ready,” said Channing when it came to baby talk. When he was asked how big he wanted their brood to be, he said “The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that."

Jenna spoke to Billy Bush and Scott Wolf on Access Hollywood Live recently and was coy when it came to the subject of babies. “We want a family, we definitely want a family. Whenever it’s meant to be… whenever divine intervention comes along and creates that to happen, it will be happening.” Not giving much away there, then!

Channing and Jenna met on the set of the 2006 movie Step Up. They’re both 32 years old and married in 2009; now the couple are preparing to bring their first child into the world.

Next week, People magazine will announce who’s won their Sexiest Man Alive title for 2012. Gossipcop.com reported yesterday that they have had the inside scoop on who’s going to win and apparently, it’s none other than Magic Mike star Channing Tatum. People will be unveiling their choice on November 13 but it looks as though the secret’s out and Jenna Dewan’s husband should most likely start preparing his acceptance speech already.

If the rumours are true, Channing will follow in the footsteps of Bradley Cooper and Ryan Reynolds, who have both picked up the award in the last two years. Tatum has been featured in People’s annual Sexiest Man Alive issue before, but he’s never actually won. Still, with two successful films under his belt this year, he’s barely been out of the public eye. Both Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street proved to be a hit at the box office so we’re not at all surprised that Tatum’s in for the honour. People magazine obviously weren’t prepared to confirm the rumours… that would really spoil the surprise now, wouldn’t it? A rep for the magazine said “We never comment on who the Sexiest Man Alive is until the issue is revealed.” Guess we’ll just have to wait until that magazine’s out then, won’t we?

Tatum’s co-star Zach Galifianakis was all in favour of Channing getting the award and told Entertainmentwise, quite succinctly “he’s very sexy.”

Online have described him as “a breath of fresh air for viewers” and fans of the show will relish seeing how he interacts with the likes of Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) and Dr. Arden (James Cromwell) when he comes to Briarcliffe to assess whether or not Kit (Evan Peters) is fit for trial. He learns a thing or two about modern psychiatric teachings, from a patient who suggests that not all can be explained by what he has already learned.
