The actress confirmed the sad news in a statement
Actress Jennifer Aniston has announced the death of her mother, Nancy Dow at aged 79. The actress-model mother of the Hollywood superstar had endured a "long illness" but Aniston revealed she was surrounded by family and friends when she passed away.

The 47-year-old Friends star released a statement to confirm the news.
She said: "It is with great sadness that my brother John and I announce the passing of our mother Nancy Dow.

"She was 79 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends after enduring a long illness.
"We ask that our family’s privacy be respected as we grieve our loss."
Nancy reportedly suffered a stroke in 2011 and 2012.

She was married to Aniston’s soap actor father, John Aniston, from 1965 to 1980.
Aniston has spoken out about the difficult relationship she had with her mother which reportedly sourced in the 1990s and became even worse when Nancy wrote a memoir in 1999 about Aniston: From Mother and Daughter to Friends.
However, they were said to have reconciled shortly after Aniston’s split from Brad Pitt in 2004, although Aniston was quoted as calling her mother "critical" and "unforgiving" in a 2015 interview before adding, "we’re all fine".
