Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are still wearing their wedding rings for the sake of their children.

The 43-year-old actress and the 42-year-old actor have both been spotted out with and without their rings since recently confirming their split after 10 years of marriage and their two daughters, Violet, nine, and Seraphina, six, and three-year-old son Samuel ''are a big part of why they're still wearing [the symbolic piece of jewellery].''

A source close to the duo explained: ''They just want them to be okay.''

Jennifer, who is currently shooting the upcoming film 'Miracles from Heaven' in Atlanta, is said to have made the devastating decision to pull the plug on their marriage because she was ''didn't want to spend another year of her life being miserable'' and was fed up of Ben's passion for gambling, but the brunette beauty is now ''doing great.''

The insider told PEOPLE magazine: ''[She] is doing great. The kids are with her, which is all she wants. She's as strong as ever.''

Oscar winner Ben has been flying back and forth to help take care of their children while his estranged wife is on set.

The source added: ''[He] plans to be there with them as much as he can. He's playing Mr. Mom, and that is what he wants to do. As difficult as it is, from what we've seen, it's pretty amicable.''

While the former couple are trying to remain ''cordial,'' they are only communicating by text message.

Another source told Us Weekly magazine: ''Jen and Ben haven't spent time together in Atlanta. They both put on their happy faces and don't show any signs of anger or frustration. They definitely play happy family in front of the kids.''
