After Lionsgate Panel At Comic-Con, The Odds Are Definitely In ""Catching Fire's" Favor

Katniss Everdeen is back at Comic-Con and it’s nothing, if not intense. The Friday Lionsgate panel revealed the second theatrical trailer for Catching Fire mere minutes after the clip was released online. The panel was shared between Catching Fire and Lionsgate’s other upcoming feature – I, Frankenstein. It’s not hard to guess which preview ended up stealing the show. And while we got a sense of the intensity, the scope and the drama of this film in the first trailer, this one shows gives fans an idea of the true magnitude of the rebellion and the 75th Hunger Games – the two main plot developments in Catching Fire.

J-Law has been the talk of the town ever since the first Hunger Games film.

The trailer makes it abundantly clear – with previous victors competing in the arena, this year’s Games are going to be something else entirely. “I think these games are gonna be different,” Woody Harrelson, as Katniss’ and Peeta’s grizzled mentor Haymitch Abernathy, says. “Last year was child’s play. This year you're dealing with all experienced killers.”

From the very first words Prim (Katniss’s sister) speaks in the trailer, fans are treated to a much grimmer picture than that of the first movie. And yes, that is possible. Something’s changed indeed and that’s exactly why Donald Sutherland’s President Snow is now plotting Katniss’ demise with head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman). The second half of the trailer focuses on Katniss’s competition, shown in action with a voiceover by Woody Harrelson. It’s all very dramatic indeed and by the end, we even get a glimpse of Katniss’s mockingjay dress – the character’s way of officially waging war on the president and the Capitol. Hunger Games fans will no doubt be thrilled, just like the lucky few who got to attend the Comic-Con presentation. Unfortunately, there’s a while longer left to wait for the movie’s release, which is set for November 23.

That talk has increased significantly with the release of the two Catching Fire previews.
