Jennifer Lopez will not be going ahead with her scheduled performance at the opening ceremony of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The 44 year-old actress and was expected to sing the World Cup's official song, alongside fellow artists Pitbull and Claudia Leitte, this coming Thursday (June 12th).

FIFA officials, football's governing body, previously stated to the Associated Press that J-Lo will not be performing the track due to unspecified "production issues."

"For production issues, Jennifer Lopez, one of the artists of the official song 'We Are One,' will not be able to perform at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony," FIFA's statement officially said.

Pitbull and Leitte will still go ahead with a performance of the official song, 'We Are One,' before Brazil takes on Croatia in Sao Paulo, the tournament's opening game.

Reps for the 'On The Floor' singer have also confirmed this announcement to E!News via a statement.

"We can confirm the accuracy of FIFA's statement," Lopez's reps said. "Regretfully Jennifer Lopez will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies."

The ceremony, which is expected to be around 25 minutes long, will feature 600 artists covering an array of performances, such as acrobatic gymnasts, trampolinists, martial arts-style capoeira and stilt walkers.

Cuban-American rapper, Pitbull, didn't let the departure of his frequent collaborator effect his enthusiasm going into Thursday.

"To be performing 'We Are One' to the world, especially in such a beautiful country like Brazil, is going to be a lot of fun. But more than this, it is going to show the world that music is the universal language," he said, via FIFA.

The opening ceremony will be held in front of 60,000 people at Sao Paulo's Corinthians Arena, and around a billion people are expected to watch on television from around the world.
