Jennifer Lopez has a ''sleepover'' with her kids once a week.

The 45-year-old singer and actress has six-year-old twins Maximilian and Emme from her marriage with record producer Marc Anthony, and treats them to a special evening with her every Friday night.

She revealed: ''Every Friday night I let them bring the sleeping bags into my room and we have a sleepover. We watch a movie together and then they fall asleep with me. That's 'our' night.''

While the 'American Idol' judge always tries to make time for the weekly occasion, her busy schedule sometimes interferes, which is something she is hoping to minimise because she knows she has to be ''careful'' in order to stay positive and healthy.

She said: ''I do work a lot. But as I've become older and more mature, I'm very careful about taking care of myself. There's more power in saying 'no' [to work] than there is in 'yes'. That's helped in making me not only a happier person for myself, but for my kids too.''

And although the 'I Luh Ya Papi' hitmaker is a global superstar, her kids are yet to realise what their mother does as a profession.

She told the Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine: ''They understand that I work a lot, but they don't understand what the work is. They know it pays the bills.''
