Edina and Patsy can crack open the bolly, as the ‘Ab Fab’ movie scores at the UK box office.
Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie brought in the big numbers at the UK box office over its opening weekend, taking £4.02 million. The numbers mean the film has managed the biggest U.K. opening of any British film since the last Bond outing, Spectre back in October.

Speaking about the film’s success, Cameron Saunders, UK Managing Director, Twentieth Century Fox, said: “We are thrilled that audiences have embraced Edina and Patsy’s big screen debut - it is a testament to Jennifer, Joanna and the talented team behind the film who really are absolutely fabulous.”

Ab Fab: The Movie also scored positive reviews from critics who welcomed the return of Eddy and Patsy. Its box office takings will no doubt only get bigger and bigger when it hits US theatres on July 22 and then opens in Australia on August 4th.
The film follows PR guru Edina Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders) and best friend Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley) who live a life full of drinking, shopping and partying while growing old disgracefully. But their carefree lifestyle is interrupted when Edina is accused of killing Kate Moss by pushing the supermodel in to the Thames.

It features 60 celebrity cameos including Kate Moss, Rebel Wilson, Joan Collins, Lily Cole, Emma Bunton, Cara Delevingne and Stella McCartney. Also returning from the TV series are Julia Sawalha as Eddy’s daughter Saffy, June Whitfield as Mother and Jane Horrocks as assistant Bubble.
