47 year old Jeremy Kyle, the man who many claim to have exposed broken Britain on television through the exposure of dysfunctional families, was diagnosed with testicular cancer just before Christmas, after finding a lump having just got home from America where he'd been filming a US version of his show. Since then he's been being treated with chemotherapy. He's now in recovery and relaxing abroad, but has vowed to be back to work next week. What a trooper!

Speaking to the Sun, a friend of the presenter said: "Jeremy is your classic workaholic. He hates the fact he's not in the studio doing what he loves. He's been in touch with producers and told them not to get too comfortable as he'll be back on Wednesday. He has got a full series to do and doesn't want to let anyone down."

Thousands of fans have taken to Facebook, Twitter and the Sun website to give their best wishes to the father of four. In a statement made on Facebook, a representative said: "It's been a really tough couple of months for him and his family but he wanted to let you all know that he appreciates your continuing support. Jeremy will be back at work next week to start filming new shows which you'll see on TV very soon."
