ENTOURAGE star Jeremy Piven and Lost's TERRY O'QUINN were the first big winners at the Emmy Awards on Sunday (16Sep07) Piven's Best Supporting Actor in A Comedy Series prize was his second, while Quinn was a surprise winner in the Best Supporting Actor in A Drama Series category. Piven held back tears as he dedicated his award to his late father for the second year in succession. O'Quinn beat favourites T.R. Knight (Grey's Anatomy) and Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) to claim his first Emmy. He poked fun at his salary in his acceptance speech. He quipped, "Sometimes when we're rolling around in the jungle (on Lost)... and we're hitting each other and stabbing each other and shooting each other... I wonder what it would be like to bake up a sheet of cookies on Wisteria Lane (Desperate Housewives) - and get one of their cheques." My Name Is Earl star Jamie Pressly also picked up an early Emmy - her first - in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category. Pressly teared up as she paid tribute to her fiance and her baby son, calling him "he's the best thing that's ever happened to me." The Emmy Awards got off to an animated start in Los Angeles when the stars of TV cartoon series Family Guy kicked off the show with an irreverent song and dance routine about the "trash" on TV. Caustic baby Stewie and family dog Brian poked fun at The Sopranos, Desperate Housewives and Scrubs among other shows before ceremony host, American Idol star, Ryan Seacrest took charge of the 2007 Emmys. The show makes history as the first Emmys in the round - the Shrine Auditorium stage in Los Angeles was surrounded by the audience.
