Jessica Alba says she no longer worries about being perfect after becoming a mother to her two-year-old daughter Honor.
Jessica Alba has stopped being "selfish" since becoming a mother.
The 'Little Fockers' actress has a two-year-old daughter Honor - her child with her film producer husband Cash Warren - and says having responsibility for another person has meant she no longer puts such a big emphasis on her career or things that are superficial.
The 29-year-old screen beauty said: "I've learned to forgive myself for not being perfect and not stressing myself so much. You have had a reputation for being fiercely protective of your independence. My daughter has put everything in perspective for me. You stop being selfish and driven in such a narrow personal sense, and you want to build a life for yourself and your family.
"I tended to be a workaholic in the past and now I don't feel that kind of self-imposed stress anymore. My husband and my daughter are my Real World. Together we want to build a truly loving and beautiful family. I'm very traditional in that sense. When Honor was born, I also felt that it was a good time to change many things. I was always the type of woman who tried to please other people and do everything right. Putting that kind of pressure on yourself isn't healthy for you in the long run. It wears you down."
Jessica also revealed she is glad Cash isn't an actor and they have different interests, because it keeps their relationship fresh.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I liked the fact that he wasn't an actor and that he had a different perspective on the film business from me. I'm very obsessive about my work and the film business and he's not. He loves watching sports and I can't think of anything more boring!"
