Jessica Alba maintains ''healthy habits'' instead of dieting.

The 34-year-old actress tries to eat ''plant-based'' foods as often as possible rather than follow strict eating regimes.

She said: ''It's less about diet and more about maintaining healthy habits for me. I try to eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and I eat plant-based whenever possible. I limit the dairy in my diet and sodium intake, especially before a photo shoot.''

The 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' star also likes to infuse water with different flavours to encourage her to drink more as it keeps her skin glowing.

She told Look magazine: ''It may be simple, but it's amazing how beneficial it is to drink lots of water. My skin is healthier and brighter, and I feel less tired. Adding fresh fruit and herbs inspires me to drink more.''

Jessica - who has daughters Honor and Haven with husband Cash Warren - also confessed she tries to workout as often as possible and revealed her secrets for keeping in shape while on the go.

She added: ''I do a series of burpees, mountain climbers, squat jumps, planks, and a few sun salutations that only require 30 minutes a session.

''They work the key muscle groups, and don't require any equipment, so can be done anywhere.''
