Jessica Chastain is being lined up to play Jane in a remake of 'Tarzan'.

The star - nominated for an Oscar last month for her role in 'Zero Dark Thirty' - is rumoured to play the love interest of the jungle exploring adventurer in the reboot of the classic adventure story.

Director David Yates, who made four of the 'Harry Potter' films, is said to have his eye on Alexander Skarsgard for the main role, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Others linked to the part include 'Man Of Steel's Henry Cavill and Charlie Hunnam, star of 'Pacific Rim'.

The film's plot is said to see Tarzan settled in England until he is personally asked to investigate shady dealing and a vicious warlord in the Congo.

Also rumoured to be joining the cast is Samuel L. Jackson, who may play ex-mercenary George Washington Williams, who helps Tarzan in his quest.

If she does take the role of Jane, Jessica will be required to flash plenty of flesh and most likely appear in an animal skin bikini, which will help her get her own back on her first ever boyfriend.

She has previously said: ''When someone tells me I'm a sex symbol I'm like, 'What?' But I'll take what I can get. That'll teach all those boys back in junior high [school]. In fact, I hope my very first boyfriend, the guy I dated for one month and who broke up with me at the Valentine's Day dance - I hope that boy sees this.''
