Fans are already giddy with anticipation.
Watch out American Horror Story fans. So far, the show has done “haunted house,” “insane asylum” and “witch coven” and now the writing team for the creepiest show on television (up for debate, of course) has revealed next season’s theme. Drumroll please… AHS is doing Carnival. In a podcast with Nerdist Writers Panel, "AHS" writer and co-executive producer Douglas Petrie spilled the setting of Season 4.
After much sneaking around by Ryan Murphy and co. the cat's finally out of the bag.
The reveal seemed completely accidental, with Petrie first claiming that he wasn’t allowed to leak any information on the upcoming season. However, it was apparently alright, if he wasn’t actually the one spilling info. Moira Kirkland, a writer for "Castle" and "Arrow" also on the podcast, said, "Well I don't know if it's true, but I heard carnival." That was when Petrie confirmed it, "Yes - that was the, it - it does not have a title."
Stars Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange will return in the as of yet untitled Season 4.
Apparently, the setting has been selected, but the plot is still in the rough stages. "That's the idea, that's very roughly the idea," Petrie said, reluctant to reveal any concrete details.
The carnival theme was one of the more popular theories floating around online communities earlier this year. It seemed like AHS creator Ryan Murphy had put that bit of speculation to bed, however, when he told Entertainment Weekly that “"no one has completely guessed what it is.” Apparently it was all lies and misinformation.
