Jessica Simpson has tied the knot for a second time.

The 33 year-old singer walked down the aisle with former NFL player Eric Johnson at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Saturday (July 5th).

The couple's two children, daughter Maxwell (2), and son Ace (1), and 250 guests attended the ceremony.

Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson have had their second child, with their first son Ace Knute Johnson being born early on Sunday (June 30) at a Los Angeles hospital. As great as the news is, the choice of name for the little one has caused it's fair share of head-scratching as people struggle to get their heads around the latest bizarre celebrity baby name.

Congratulations to Jessica and Eric!

It turns out that the choice of name isn't just some random decision, but is actually in honour of the college football legend Knute Rockne, who played and coached at Notre Dame University at the beginning of the twentieth century. Not so strange after all (well, it isn't exactly Steve but it is better than North or Apple) and maybe Eric already has plans for his son to follow in his footsteps by choosing the name.

Jessica Simpson celebrated her unborn son at a Tom Sayer-themed baby shower over the weekend. "I'm so excited to have a son," the singer turned fashion designer told People magazine, "He got all these cute vintage cars and I got a lot of little leather jackets I can't wait to try out!"

Simpson wore a curve-hugging bright blue dress at garden-fete bash, which was hosted by Ashlee and mother Tina. Simpson revealed that she was having a baby boy on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month, mentioning that she and Eric Johnson were thinking of naming the little fella Ace. "I didn't grow up with a brother, and I think the unknown is really exciting," Simpson said of her daughter's upcoming big sister" status. "I can't wait to have that connection with our little man."

Bango music helped set the vibe for the party, with 48 guests served Champagne with fresh blueberries in vintage baby bottles with custom made straws. Wow. Goodie bags given to the lucky guests included blue nail polish, lip gloss and, wait for it, condoms. Children were treated to grilled cheese while the adults got chicken. "I always love some fried chicken," the 32-year-old said.

Jessica Simpson's baby name is sorted. Done and dusted, according to the guys over at Us Weekly magazine. The singer turned multi-millionaire entrepreneur has apparently decided on 'Ace' for her little bundle of joy currently on the way. That's right, Ace. As in Ace Ventura.

"(She's) told people she's going to name the baby Ace!" the source revealed. It's not a patch on the name Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose gave to their newborn this year - Sebastian, now there's a name. Anyway, Simpson, 32, is to become a mother for the second time following the birth of her daughter Maxwell Drew some 10-months-ago. Last year, the singer revealed that young Max's came about as a tribute to her family and that of her fiance, a former footballer with the San Francisco 49ers. Confused? Well, Maxwell is Eric Johnson's middle name, as well as his grandmother's surname. But they decided to give their female daughter the moniker as her first name. Ouch. "Maxwell can whistle on cue at 9 months! Heck, I'm still learning!" joked the pregnant Simpson via Twitter Feb. 19. "This lil human impresses me every day."

Simpson and Johnson first confirmed the second pregnancy via Twitter, on Christmas Day of all days.

In Your Face, Academy! Well, one of the strangest Oscar snubs in recent memory appears to have made the Academy look very silly indeed. Ben Affleck won Best Director at the Golden Globes on Sunday for Argo, which also won Best Drama. The actor-turned-filmmaker will not feature in the same category at the Oscars, though we guess won't be TOO bothered now.

The Brave One: It was pretty eventful Golden Globes by all accounts, with actress Jodie Foster finally coming out over her sexuality after years of ambiguity. The Silence of The Lambs star and two-times Oscar winner delivered a typically humorous and emotional speech, leaving much of the gathered audience in tears.

Jessica Simpson has signed on to star in a new NBC comedy series, loosely based on her own life as a celebrity who must balance life as a mother and a public figure. On Tuesday (January 15, 2013), producer Ben Silverman confirmed to Reuters that a pilot episode is set to go into development.

The show will be Simpson's first step back into acting for over five years, though she has nothing on her showreel to suggest she could front her own comedy show. The former teen pop star is perhaps best known for her MTV reality Newlyweds, which detailed the trials and tribulations of her marriage to Nick Lachey, though she followed it up with the poorly received The Dukes of Hazzard in 2005 and Employee of the Month in 2006. Silverman - the creator of The Biggest Loser - said, "The show is inspired by her life as she's going through a new phase in her life becoming a mom. It's a combination of 'I Love Lucy' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm." We really wish he hadn't mentioned Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Simpson doesn't have great form when it comes to pilots - in 2004, she taped an episode of a new show about a pop star who becomes an anchor, though ABC rejected it. The singer - who gave birth to her first child in May 2012 and is pregnant with her second - will also serve as an executive producer on the new show.

After years of making herself look stupid by accident, Jessica Simpson is set to do it on purpose after it has been revealed that she'll star in a television pilot in development for NBC that is loosely based on her life, Reuters reports. 

Following a fairly successful pop career, Simpson became best know for reality TV shows, including MTV's "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica," which followed Simpson and her first husband and fellow pop singer Nick Lachey. She also served as a mentor on NBC's Fashion Star. "The show is inspired by her life as she's going through a new phase in her life becoming a mom," said executive producer Ben Silverman, who is the creator of NBC's reality show 'The Biggest Loser.' "It's a combination of 'I Love Lucy' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,'" he added, referring to the classic 1950s Lucille Ball comedy series and the HBO series by "Seinfeld" creator Larry David.

Given that shows like Louie and Curb your Enthusiasm portray the semi-real lives of people that have created respected work - Louis C.K being a successful stand up prior to his show, and Larry David penning America's favourite comedy, Seinfeld - it's difficult to see how Simpson will be able to capitalise on the genre, considering most of her success has come from her sheer stupidity. However, her seemingly vapid existence could merely have been a well-articulated ruse in order to accumulate hard cash; cash which she might now be spending to portray the real her. Somehow we doubt it, but good luck to her. 

Jessica Simpson is “Bumpin’ and Proud!”

The singer and actress posted a picture of herself on Twitter, showing off her new baby bump and wearing a bikini, matching head band and loose shirt, whilst on vacation with her fiancé Eric Johnson. She took the photo on her glittery iPhone, with the help of a long mirror and had perfected her posing pout for the occasion too.

The 32 year-old is now pregnant for the second time, having given birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson just seven months ago. Jessica and Eric didn’t waste any time expanding the family and have taken a break to celebrate, along with Jessica’s sister, Ashlee Simpson, who has been flaunting a decidedly flatter stomach than her pregnant sister, out there in Hawaii. The daring bikini snap isn’t the only holiday picture that Jessica has shared with her Twitter followers; she also posted a snap of Maxwell in a festive red and white babygro, sitting on the beach, with the words “BIG SIS” etched into the sand, as well as another snap of her and Eric on the beach with the waves lapping the shore behind them. Jealous? We sure are!

A couple of snaps taken yesterday (December 29th) show that Ashlee Simpson, along with son Bronx, joined big sis Jessica, her fiancé Eric Johnson and their 7-month-old daughter Maxwell Drew on the trip. The family matriarch – newly-divorced Dina Simpson was also in attendance, People Magazine reports. During the trip Ashlee flaunted her envious beach body, looking healthy and tanned, despite the time of year. Then again, the Simpson clan probably doesn’t have to deal with the winter chill the rest of us have been facing. We can’t say we aren’t a tiny bit jealous. Ok, fine, very jealous.

Newly single Ashlee Simpson, who split up with actor Vincent Plazza after a year and a half of dating, didn’t seem to have any trouble dealing with her new relationship status, while she enjoyed the downtime with the family and smiled alongside her 4-year-old son and really, can you blame her? We’re all for the single and proud mentality. What a great way to ring in the New Year (if you can afford it, of course).

What is Jessica Simpson even famous for? As far as we can tell, it's 1 part acting, 1 part singing, and 98 parts being generally quite stupid. She may have us all fooled, though, while she 'acts' dumb to build up a popular persona; one that television networks and magazine pay big bucks to get the first scoop on.

She’s had to lay off her favorite pregnancy food, for a start – macaroni cheese is hardly your best friend when you’re trying to shed that baby fat. “My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel,” she said back in September. “I'm just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself.”

"Jessica's right where she needs to be . . . She's gotten so much stronger."

Six months after giving birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew, Jessica Simpson has completed her remarkable weight turnaround. The singer and actress has lost more than 60lbs and showed off her new slim figure at an event for her fashion line the Jessica Simpson Collection in Tampa on Saturday (November 17, 2012).

Two days prior, she had posted a sneak peek on Twitter of a forthcoming commercial for Weightwatchers. It's not been an easy road for Simpson, who admitting that she was struggling to kick her pregnancy craving of macaroni and cheese. "My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel," she said in September, "I'm just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself." Her partnership with the weight loss brand hasn't been without its controversy, given that she was paid a reported $3 million to lose the 60lbs. A spokesman for the company declined to comment on the financial side of the deal, instead saying Simpson would be adopting a "strong focus on healthy eating, behavioral change, activity and support."

Simpson's success is just what Weightwatchers need, with the company's stock falling some 25% in May, according to CNN Money. Their first-quarter financial report showed sales of around $500 million - disappointing given the company's previous figures.

Jessica Simpson's father, Joe Jackson, has refuted claims that his alleged homosexuality was the reason behind his 34-year marriage to Jessica's mother, Tina Simpson.

Joe - Jessica's manager - and Tina, kept their divorce relatively quiet at the time, although it later emerged that a court proceeding took place on September 24th. Rumours that papa Simpson's sexuality was at the root of the split soon began to emerge after a National Enquirer article reported that he had outed himself to the family. A spokesperson for the Simpson family has since released a statement on behalf of the family saying: "Tina and Joe Simpson have filed for divorce. It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."

Joe, who has been the manager of daughters Jessica and Ashlee since their careers began, was arrested and charged with DUI in early August this year, to which he pleaded not guilty. His subsequent homosexual allegations have remained persistent regardless of the rebuttal on Wednesday (Oct 24) with certain websites reporting further revelations in favour of the rumours.

Jessica Simpson's parents are to divorce after mother Tina filed papers in Texas last month. Eschewing the traditional "'irreconcilable differences" route, Tina claims "The marriage has become "insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities."

The pair married in 1978 and have two children, Jessica, and singer Ashlee Simpson. The divorce appears amicable enough, though a stumbling block could lie in Tina's insistence that she keeps a property she owns separately from Joe. Texas law has specific rules about divorce, notably that spouses must behave during proceedings and cannot harass each other over the phone - basically, as hard as it sounds, they have behave like adults. A representative for the family told TMZ.com, "It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time." These 'other related allegations' probably refer to the National Enquirer's story that Joe had come out of the closet.

Both Joe and Tina have overseen their daughter's rise to become international pop-stars. Jessica has since emerged as a powerful entrepreneur, reportedly turning over $1 billion with her clothing line.

Jessica Simpson has been proudly showing off her baby girl Maxwell in photos from her fiance Eric Johnson's 33rd birthday.

The singer/actress and her husband-to-be seem beyond happy with their 4-month-old firstborn in the black and white snaps posted on Jessica's lifestyle blog. One picture showed Eric smiling down at his daughter who he is holding in his arms with the caption, 'Daddy's 33rd Birthday!' Another photo shows Jessica, 32, with her child beneath another caption reading: 'Last year at Daddy's party, Maxwell was in my belly. This year she's in my arms!' She has also been sharing Maxwell with her Twitter followers with one image showing her and the happy parents smiling with a firework display behind them.

Although the star seems thrilled with her new life as a mother, losing her post-pregnancy baby weight has been less of a smooth ride. However, she has since embarked on a weight loss programme with Weight Watchers and has reportedly lost over 40 pounds since giving birth to Maxwell. She showed off her new figure on the Katie Couric show 'Katie' and remarked that she was told by doctors that her weight was 'a lot of water' which didn't all come out during the birth. 'I put on more baby weight than I was planning on putting on so I think that I really have to separate myself from the world's expectations and really just look inside of myself and have a relationship with myself and be healthy with myself. That is really important because I want to be a phenomenal role model for my child', she said.

Johnny Knoxville has been accused of engaging in a relationship with Jessica Simpson, when the 'Jackass' star took a live lie-detector test while on-air for a radio interview on 3rd August 2005. Despite both the Simpson and Knoxville being married to other people, it has been rumoured for a long time that they had a relationship during filming for 'The Dukes of Hazzard'.
