Jessica Simpson has been dreaming of giving birth in a leopard-print caftan.

The 31-year-old singer - who is expecting her first baby with fiancé Eric Johnson - is due to give birth imminently and has even been thinking about it in her sleep.

She wrote on twitter: ''I just woke up from a dream that I wore a leopard caftan in the hospital. Fabulous!! Now I need to find one!(sic)''

Earlier this week she had to deny she had already given birth after fans began congratulating her.

She wrote: ''To everyone who keeps congratulating me on the birth of my baby girl...I'm still pregnant!! Don't believe what you read ladies and gents.(sic)''

Jessica reportedly wants to have a caesarean birth because she is nervous about how painful it might be.

A source said: ''The thought of going into labor scared the bejeezus out of her. She was so anxious, she was even breaking into cold sweats at night.

''Jessica has no tolerance for pain. She even turned to hypnotherapy to calm her fears about it, but nothing was working.

''She desperately wanted to experience the joy of a natural birth, but decided to go with what made the most sense for her.''
