Jessie J thinks everyone in the world needs ''love''.

The chart-topping singer - who recently dumped her boyfriend Luke James amid fears he was using her to raise his profile - has taken to Twitter to criticise people who are unloving and even critical of others on social media.

The 27-year-old star said: ''The love people will happily give someone when it may be too late, is often the love they really needed to survive when they were falling.

''Next time you think about making a Instagram joke or to judge someone. Really think. If this was about me, if I felt really low would it help?

''We can save each other. But we live in a world where people will slow down at a car crash and take a picture before they jump out to help.

''We are all human. We all need love.''

The British star also posted a motivational message to one of her followers, writing: ''You got this girl. You are stronger than you think x (sic)''

However, she also insisted her rant was not related to her own situation.
