The autopsy into the death of Jim Carrey’s former girlfriend Cathriona White has ruled it as a suicide, after she fatally overdosed on prescription medication. The 30-year-old make-up artist, who had an on-off relationship with Carrey also left a suicide note apologising to the actor.

The note, obtained by People magazine, read: “I've spent 3 days now in disbelief that you're not here. I can go on broken hearted and try to put the pieces back. I could, I just don't have the will this time.”

Cathriona White, the on-off girlfriend of Jim Carrey who passed away last week, was apparently married to another man at the time of her death, according to a new report.

A Medical Examiner’s official told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday evening (October 5th) that the 28 year old, who is believed to have taken her own life through an overdose of prescription drugs, was married to Mark Burton, a cameraman who she met in Los Angeles when they were working on an online comedy series.

The Church of Scientology has responded to claims the religion could have played a role in the suspected suicide of Jim Carrey’s former girlfriend Cathriona White. The 30 year old was said to be involved in the church since around 2010, but had recently partaken in a number of ‘purification’ regimes.

Jim Carrey’s former girlfriend Cathriona White was found dead on September 28th.

In an article by journalist Tony Ortega, it was claimed that White was a Scientologist who ‘took classes at the Hollywood Celebrity Centre, and was currently working on her “objectives” in the “Survival Rundown.”’

Cathriona White, the ex-girlfriend of Hollywood actor Jim Carrey, has been found dead at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 28. Reports are emerging that the beauty therapist and make-up artist, who broke up with Carrey for a second time just a matter of days ago, took her own life on Monday night (September 28th).

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that they believed White’s death was caused by an overdose of prescription drugs. Two of her friends discovered her body the previous night, with a bottle next to her, when they visited her apartment to check if she was okay.

Dumb & Dumber To, the sequel to Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels' classic comedy movie, has posted $38.1 million on its opening weekend at the box-office. The movie edged out the critically acclaimed Disney animation Big Hero 6, which took $36 million for its second weekend.

Christopher Nolan's visual epic Interstellar had to settle for third place on the back of criticism of its sound. Some viewers have complained that sections of dialogue are difficult to hear - as was the case in The Dark Knight Rises - though the director told the Hollywood Reporter that was intentional.

You knew it was coming, I knew it was coming, but we were NOT prepared. Dumb and Dumber To is in cinemas this weekend. Naturally, the first instinct of most critics was to RIP IT TO SHREDS. With just 27% approval on Rotten Tomatoes, the question of the day seems to be: “Why, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, WHY?”

It's just not the same, guys.

So what exactly is wrong with it? To quote Rolling Stone’s  Peter Travers, “Time can be cruel, especially to sequels.” According to Travers – as well as a host of other reviewers, gags have an expiration date and the ones in D&D are way past theirs. But it’s not like the sequel is completely irredeemable – it just falls far short of the original. “. This isn’t some cynical piece of garbage like Another 48 Hrs. Carrey and Daniels are in there working hard and almost getting their tricky rhythms back. On paper, the premise sounds more than serviceable,” David Edelstein writes for Vulture.

We get the feeling this Dumb & Dumber sequel could have been a lot cleverer - a lot slicker than this. Peter recalled how Steve Stabler - producer on Dumb & Dumber - offered Jim Carrey $350k to do the original film, which he passed on. Carrey - who was also working on The Mask and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective wanted $400,000 and the studio executives were holding off. A couple of months later, Ace Ventura hit the big-screen and made $107 million on a budget of just fifteen.

Yes, Saturday's 'SNL' highlight was the Halloween themed office party sketch, which saw the 'Dumb and Dumber' star re-enact the video for Sia's Platinum hit 'Chandelier', alongside identically dressed cast member Kate Mckinnon as they attempted to battle it out for the right to wear the costume. The pair performed the energetic dance routine of 'Dance Moms' star Maddie Ziegler who starred in the video, and while it has to be said that it really is a remarkable rendition, Jim Carrey's customary absurd facial expressions made it a truly unmissable show - that and musical guest Iggy Azalea's unexpected cameo.
