Fact: The site of the legendary Woodstock Music & Arts Festival in New York in 1969 has been nominated for inclusion into America's State and National Registers of Historic Places. The field in Bethel in Sullivan County hosted around 400,000 fans for the three-day rock festival, where performers included Jimi Hendrix, The Who, the Grateful Dead, Arlo Guthrie, and Janis Joplin, among many others.

Fact: Jimi Hendrix's posthumous album People, Hell & Angels has inspired a new pop-up store in London. The shop will be launched by the guitar great's sister Janie at 8 Ganton Street next month (01Apr13), and it will be open for 11 days. The store will host a Gered Mankowitz photography exhibit and offer limited edition merchandise and Cds for sale.

Fact: The guitar rock legend Jimi Hendrix set alight during his fabled Monterey International Pop Festival performance in 1967 has been sold at auction for over $320,000 (£200,000). The black Fender Stratocaster was sold in London on Tuesday (27Nov12). James Wright, a manager at Hendrix's record label, previously owned the instrument.

Fact: Rock 'n' roll icon Jimi Hendrix is set to reissue a string of albums from beyond the grave. Sony Music's Legacy division will deliver Jimi Hendrix Experience: BBC Sessions, Jimi Hendrix: Blues, Live At Woodstock, and the EP Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year on 19 October (10). Earlier this year (Mar10), Legacy executives released Valleys of Neptune, a collection of previously unavailable Hendrix tracks.
