Jimmy Kimmel cried at the birth of his baby daughter.

The chat show host, 46, admits he was reduced to tears when he and his wife Molly McNearney welcomed their first child Jane into the world earlier this month.

Speaking on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' last night (21.07.14), he quipped: ''My wife is doing fine, I'm fine too. I was so brave. I cried a little but I didn't scream. You guys would've been very, very proud of me.''

Jimmy revealed he and Molly decided to name the tiny tot after his grandmother, before showing the audience some adorable snaps of his new bundle of joy.

He said: ''Her head is tiny. Her head is like the size of a plum. She weighed 6lbs 1oz at birth, 20 inches long - just above the legal limit.''

However, the funnyman - who already has children Katie and Kevin with his ex-wife Gina - admits he's struggling to adapt to life with a new baby around.

He explained: ''I have a 22-year-old daughter and a 20-year-old son already, but it's interesting how much you forget.''

Jimmy - who married Molly last July - announced the birth of Jane on his Twitter account on July 10.

He tweeted at the time: ''Congratulations to my beautiful and very tough wife @mollymcnearney on delivering our baby girl this morning (sic).''
