With new Star Wars Episode VII plot details flying around the rumor mill, fanfare surrounding the film is starting to build
J.J. Abrams has been incrementally dripping visual information regarding the upcoming reboot, Star Wars: Episode VII; we’ve had a glimpse at a bustling Tattooine marketplace and a chess table from the Millennium Falcon. Now, while talking about Ep. VII’s competition via Omaze, fans got a peek at a new breed of X-Wing.

There has been some debate over the model of ship: it is an X-Wing. After the video was posted, Twitter became a starship forum, with many hard core fans saying it looked more like a Z-95 Headhunter. It was the official Star Wars account that had to put a stop to the debating, stating: "it is in fact an Episode VII X-wing, not a Z-95." Now another debate can begin: why it has undergone a redesign for the sequel?
In terms of plot, no one knows anything concrete. There is a rumour flying around that the film will open with Luke Skywalker's severed hand from The Empire Strikes Back tumbling through the sky before being picked up by John Boyega and Daisy Ridley's characters, who will set out on a mission to find Luke after Han Solo admits to them that he hasn't heard from the Jedi master in many years.

It sounds plausible, but some have already called shenanigans on that because it indicates that Luke’s severed hand from The Empire Strikes Back survived its fall down the shaft on Bespin, or that Darth Vader’s severed hand survived its fall down the Death Star shaft and the consequent explosion at the end of Return of the Jedi.
