Jk Rowling has taken it upon herself to quash the latest rumours that have emerged about the sequel to 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'. Unfortunately, it doesn't give much away about the story, but we do at least know that the next story doesn't immediately follow the first.

The rumour was that the sequel would begin just days or weeks after the first film ended, but now author and screenwriter Rowling has insisted that this isn't the case. Though she doesn't say what time period the second movie is set in either.

The claim was reported on SnitchSeeker.com on Sunday (November 13th 2016), after the film's production designer Stuart Craig revealed that the second movie would be set in 'Paris, 1926'. Given that the first movie is set in December 1926, that would indeed only give the sequel a matter of weeks for it to also be set in that year.

'This isn't correct, I'm afraid!' Rowling Tweeted. 'The sequel doesn't begin days after first movie ends (although we do go to Paris.)'

In fact, JK Rowling has previously revealed that all five movies span a period of 19 years, so it's very likely that the next film will hit the 30s or at least the late twenties. What's very likely, however, is that the series will culminate in an epic battle between Albus Dumbledore and his corrupt old school friend Gellert Grindelwald. We know that both characters will have big roles in the sequels, and if you add 19 to 1926 you get 1945 - the year in which Dumbledore defeated and imprisoned the dark wizard.

What is confirmed is that as well as Paris, 'Fantastic Beasts' will also bring us back to the UK (though whether or not we'll go back to Hogwarts remains to be seen). We also know that Johnny Depp will play the elusive Grindelwald, and that director David Yates is yet to find a suitable actor to play a young Dumbledore.

'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is set for release on November 18th 2016.
