Veteran British Actress Joanna Lumley Has Called On Airlines To Put An End To Low Cost Flights In A Bid To Protect The Environment.
The Absolutely Fabulous star is convinced flying has become "too cheap" and too many travellers jet off for weekend breaks without regard for the consequences for Earth.
She tells Britain's The Times newspaper, "I would put the proper price on fuel and stop these ridiculous things saying 'Fly to Prague for the weekend'. We are saying to people: 'Fly cheap! Fly cheap! Fly cheap!' I don't approve. We've made flying too cheap... I am so mean... You can go by train. Look, of course I flew to China (to film a recent TV project). I'm not saying nobody is allowed a holiday in Spain and you have to spend three weeks getting there on your bike. I am just saying that I don't think you should have these tiny weekend stays... Am I being unkind?"
