Joanna Lumley is just about to star in the very first 'Absolutely Fabulous' movie alongside Jennifer Saunders. It's the TV series she's best known for, along with a few other major TV appearances. However, she's also had a very strong career in film, usually playing background characters or supporting roles. Which film do you remember her best in?

1. Absolutely Anything (2015) - Even when she plays a mean character she still manages to be likeable. She made a brief appearance in this sci-fi comedy starring Simon Pegg and Kate Beckinsale as Fenella; Beckinsale's character Catherine's boss who runs a book program despite never having read a book in her life.

2. The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) - Joanna Lumley's appearance in this financial thriller was pretty memorable; how many women over the age of 65 have had the chance to smooch with Leonardo DiCaprio? We're guessing not many. Apparently, Jordan Belfort lack scruples in many departments, not just in terms of cash; Lumley was meant to be his Aunt Emma after all.

3. Corpse Bride (2005) - Some of the most recognisable voices in the world appeared in Tim Burton's Oscar nominated animation. Maudeline Everglot was Lumley's character; the cold and distinctively unsympathetic mother of Victoria, protagonist Victor's fiancee. Needless to say, it was a long way of her usual velvety articulation.

4. Ella Enchanted (2004) - Another evil character, Lumley portrayed the wicked stepmother Dame Olga in modern fairytale re-boot 'Ella Enchanted' with Anne Hathaway. Though, she's probably not quite as mean as Ella's stepsister Hattie, she's still very much the star of the show,

5. Maybe Baby (2000) - This Ben Elton comedy was based on his own book 'Inconceivable' and co-stars Hugh Laurie and Joely Richardson as a couple who are struggling to conceive a child. Merely a cameo for Lumley, she plays a lesbian theatrical agent named Sheila in just two scenes, but injects some classic and unforgettable British comedy within that brief time.

6. James and the Giant Peach (1996) - This Oscar nominated classic Roald Dahl adaptation was directed by Henry Selick and featured Lumley as the vicious Aunt Spiker. Yep, another villainous character. She and Miriam Margolyes play the cruel guardians of James Trotter, after his parents were killed by a falling rhinoceros.

7. Trail of the Pink Panther (1982) - Another comedy classic, Peter Sellers' 80s flick was the Pink Panther franchise's seventh movie in which Lumley played television reporter Marie Jouvet covering the story of Sellers' character Chief Inspector Clouseau's disappearance. Makes a change from all those villainous roles.
