Jodie Marsh Splits From Husband James Placido After Just Eight Months

The couple had met only last year, and had got hitched in a secret ceremony in Barbados after a whirlwind courtship.
Jodie Marsh has stunned her fans by announcing that her seemingly fairytale wedding to James Placido has come to an end after just eight months.
The 37 year old glamour model broke the news via Instagram this morning, having only tied the knot with Placido in Barbados last August after a whirlwind romance. Previous social media messages had described him as “the one”, and an Instagram post from just last week of the couple walking their dogs had given off an impression of happily ever after for her.

However, she took to Instagram again on Monday (April 18th) and wrote: “It is with sadness that I bring you the news that James and I have separated. I will be keeping all the dogs with me. I won't be taking calls on the matter as I'd like to be left alone. I thank you in advance for your sensitivity on this subject…”
She had secretly married Placido, several years her junior, on the Caribbean island in a low-key ceremony. At the time, she wrote: “I just married the love of my life, my soul mate, my best friend; James Placido I love you and I'm so proud to be your wife. I promise to love you, support you, encourage you, help you and I promise to make you laugh every day of our lives.”

A few months later in October, she told Star magazine about how they met – in a car park, of all places! “He got out of the car and we looked into each other's eyes. We both knew there and then we were going to be together. It was love at first sight.”
It’s the latest chapter in a love life marred with misfortune and a lack of stability for Marsh, one that had eventually persuaded her to go completely celibate back in 2011 after she had grown tired of one-night-stands and “meaningless sex”.
Previously, she had dated the likes of footballer Frank Lampard, pop stars Frankie Cocozza (‘The X Factor’), Anthony Costa (from Blue) and Kenzie (Blazin’ Squad) – as well as briefly exchanging vows with her rival Katie Price’s ex-boyfriend Matt Peacock in 2007 as part of the smuttily-titled reality series ‘Totally Jodie Marsh: Who’ll Take Her Up the Aisle?’. That union disintegrated after three months.
