Gifted Trailer

Mary is a bright and happy little girl who lives with her uncle, Frank; he is her guardian and care giver since the death of her mother. Frank's sister made his promise that he'd always do right by her daughter and give her the most normal life possible - despite her loss.

Frank and Mary have a very close relationship and Frank home tutors the little blonde haired girl but as she gets older and her ability to learn more develops, Frank decides it's time for his niece to enrol at the local junior school. Despite Mary's pleas (and discussion to the point of 'Ad nauseum') to her uncle to let her stay home, Frank knows that she must start adjusting to a more normal way of life.

Howard School is a friendly local elementary and for the first time in her life, Mary is part of a classroom and soon her teacher discovers that Mary is an extremely clever girl - a child genius. The head teacher approaches her uncle Frank and tells him that she could potentially get Mary enrolled at a school for gifted children but thinking about his sisters last wishes, Frank decides she's best where she is.

I Saw The Light Trailer

I Saw The Light is the new biopic about Hank Williams. The film follows his personal life and rise to fame and his tragic death at the age of 29. Having released 30 singles in a very short amount of time Hank Williams became one of the US's favourite musicians.

Having begun work in the music industry recording tracks for a radio station, eventual turn of events and the war led Williams onto starting a solo career. Both his mother and his wife played a huge part in his musical success with his wife Audrey initially managing him which led onto Hank being signed to MGM Records.

Hank always wished to be the best father he could to his child, but constant time on the road, an addiction to pain medication, alcohol topped with his promiscuous ways lead to an unstable home life, despite the wholesome image the outside world had of him.

22 Jump Street - Clip

After a pretty traumatic time returning to high school to uncover the source of a popular new drug, young cops Schmidt and Jenko are being forced to go undercover yet again. This time their special division has been moved from 21 to 22 Jump Street and they are re-experiencing college life. Sound fun? Well, not when you haven't got a clue what is going through kids' minds these days and with a new narcotic going around called Whyphy (that sounds a lot like WiFi), they've got an exceptionally tricky situation on their hands. Spring Break might mean time off for the students, but for Schmidt and Jenko it's the perfect opportunity to find the suppliers. First though, they need a little help from an old perp, who's currently serving time in jail after their previous drug bust.

Barefoot Trailer

Jay's lived a less than honest life, sleeping around with women he could never care about, fritting away money he doesn't have in casinos and at races and drinking away his problems every night at seedy bars. However, when he meets Daisy, a mentally unstable but harmless young girl who has lived virtually her whole life indoors sheltered from the harms the real world can bring, his life begins to change and he endeavours to take her along to his wealthy parents' house on the weekend of his brother's wedding to prove to them that he can change his ways. Having never tasted a drop of alcohol in her life, kissed a boy, gone to school or owned a pair of shoes, Daisy also sees her life turn into an adventure as she seemingly becomes the only one who can change this man's stony heart and force him to love her.

22 Jump Street Trailer

Having successfully managed to nab the suppliers behind a new high school narcotic during their first stint in special division 21 Jump Street, young police officers Schmidt and Jenko are forced to return to college after moving to 22 Jump Street in order to bag the culprits behind another drug surge. There, it's a blur of debauchery, partying and drinking games as they wheedle their way into the different social circles in a bid to find the source of the new substance - even re-visiting some old perps in jail for information. However, their own professional partnership is compromised when they get mixed up in different college scenes and they have to decide if working together is right for them both in the long run.

'22 Jump Street' is the sequel to 2012's award-winning comedy '21 Jump Street' which is based on Stephen J. Cannell and Patrick Hasburgh's 1987 TV series of the same name. With directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller ('Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs', 'Clone High') at the helm, it has been written by star Jonah Hill, Michael Bacall ('Scott Pilgrim vs. the World'), Rodney Rothman ('Late Show with David Letterman') and Oren Uziel ('Mortal Kombat: Rebirth'). It is set to be released in the UK on June 6th 2014.

The Butler - Clips

Cecil Gaines is a modest and dedicated butler at the White House who manages to make for himself a respectable career despite his underprivileged upbringing and cotton farm roots. Starting out as a regular kitchen worker, Cecil soon proves himself to be extremely proficient and works his way up to be the head butler for eight different US presidents. Some of them prove to be discriminatory, treating Cecil with little respect and holding massively differing views to him, but he always remains polite and does everything within his power to care for his employers while keeping any top secret information that he might hear firmly to himself. Meanwhile, he struggles at home with his son; a Black Panther with aggressive views on racial equality who is less than grateful to have a father working for the people that he believes are causing racial oppression.

This story of loyalty and unconditional dedication is based on the true story of Eugene Allen; a butler who similarly lived through years of racial inequality before finally seeing, in his retirement, the election of the first black President, Barack Obama. His story was documented in the article 'A Butler Well Served by This Election' written by Wil Haygood. 'The Butler' has been directed by Lee Daniels ('The Paperboy', 'Precious', 'Shadowboxer') and co-written by Danny Strong ('Game Change', 'Recount') and will be released in the US on August 16th 2013.

Oldboy Trailer

When Joe Doucett suddenly wakes up one morning to find himself imprisoned in a cell with little more than a bed, a TV and a bible, his first thought is some sort of terrible nightmare. But things get worse when a news broadcast states that he is the prime suspect in the murder of his ex-wife and mother of his child Donna Hawthorne, and his daughter has been subsequently adopted. He spends his hours dwelling on Donna's death, working out, boxing, self-harming and talking to stray mice until one day, 20 years later, he finds himself climbing out of a trunk in a field very well-groomed and dressed smartly with a wad of cash in his jacket. He embarks on a mission to kill the man who took his liberty while falling in love with the beautiful Marie, who tries to help him re-build his life. However, he soon releases that he is less free than he thought as his captor continues to taunt him with questions of why he imprisoned him and why he let him go.

The Butler Trailer

Cecil Gains is a devoted White House butler who grew up on a simple cotton farm where he and other black workers were not treated with any respect by their white counterparts. From a simple kitchen worker, he rises to be top butler to eight different presidents over the course of more than 30 years. Sworn to secrecy over the goings on at the White House, he serves the likes of Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Lyndon B. Johnson with all the care that he has in spite of their differing policies and the suppression of his race across the country. He rejects his freedom fighter son's distaste at Cecil's job and never once wavers in his respect for his government. He merely stands back, silver platter in hand and watches the progression of racial equality until the day the country's first black president is finally inaugurated.

This is a story about loyalty and commitment based on the article by Wil Haygood, 'A Butler Well Served by This Election', about Eugene Allen; a real butler who showed his devotion to his job over the course of three decades while he and his fellow black civilians went from being the underdogs to top dog as he lives to see the election of President Barack Obama. It has been directed by Lee Daniels ('The Paperboy', 'Precious', 'Shadowboxer') and co-written by Danny Strong ('Game Change', 'Recount'), and has an incredible all-star ensemble cast. 'The Butler' is set to his theatres in the US on August 16th 2013.

The Last Exorcism Part II Trailer

After the last members of her family die in a horrific satanic ritual, Nell Sweetzer is found frightened wandering around Louisiana. Once she is found, she is encouraged to start afresh in New Orleans but wherever she goes, she can't seem to get the memory of her demonic possession out of her life and it is uncovered that her last exorcism was not, in fact, her last at all as the demon Alabam has returned to her body with plans of an ever more destructive and grisly nature. Will her next exorcism succeed in banishing the wrath of the creature taking over her, or will she be doomed to live with him inside her forever more?

This chilling supernatural horror has been directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly ('Small Town Murder Songs' 'This Beautiful City') who co-wrote the screenplay with Damien Chazelle ('Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench'). It follows on from the previous 'The Last Exorcism' film directed by Daniel Stamm whereby a minister who has lost his faith is called to exorcise Nell at her home where she lived with her father and brother. Looking to be just as disturbing as number one, 'The Last Exorcism Part II' is set to hit screens on March 15th 2013.

Director: Ed Gass-Donnelly

The Lucky One Review

Weak
Zac Efron isn't a bad actor, but this kind of sappy movie will do nothing to build his credibility. The flimsy plot might just about hold a pre-teen girl's interest, but lazy writing and bland production waste the decent filmmaking and acting.

After three tours of duty, shellshocked Marine Logan (Efron) heads home with no plan for the future. At one point in battle he'd found a picture of a pretty girl who became a sort-of guardian angel, so he decides to locate her based on landmarks in the photo. Eventually he meets kennel-owner Beth (Schilling) in down-home Louisiana. Without telling her how he knows her, he takes a job and reluctantly falls for her while charming her smart son (Stewart) and sassy granny (Danner). But Beth's sheriff ex-husband (Ferguson) isn't happy about this interloper.

Welcome To The Rileys Review

Very Good
Observant writing and direction make this exploration of grief surprisingly uplifting. This also gives the cast members the chance to play complex characters who engage our sympathies while never wallowing in their sadness.

Doug Riley (Gandolfini) and his wife Lois (Leo) have a quietly tense marriage that's infused with grief over the death of their teen daughter. So when Doug's mistress (Davis) dies suddenly, he doesn't know how to cope. Then he discovers that Lois has already bought their tombstone. On a business trip to New Orleans, he develops a tentative father-daughter relationship with young prostitute Mallory (Stewart). But while he's helping Mallory get back on her feet, Lois is in meltdown mode. So she stops taking her pills and drives to New Orleans.
