Warner Bros. have confirmed a release date for 'PAN'.

The latest adaptation of the children's classic, will reportedly be helmed by director JOE WRIGHT and is set to hit the big-screen in 3D on June 26, 2015.

According to Deadline.com, 'PAN' will look into the origins of Scottish novelist J. M. Barrie's classic character, Peter Pan, an orphan who is taken to the magical world of Neverland where he goes into battle against the evil pirates and becomes a hero among the natives.

Wright's offering is set to make a drastic change from past adaptations of the Peter Pan story which included 'Hook' starring Robin Williams in 1991 and Disney's 1953 animation classic.

The news comes after reports last month, that Academy Award winner Javier Bardem is in talks to play the evil pirate Blackbeard, while the iconic Captain Hook is also set to feature in the movie.

The release of 'PAN' puts the film head-to-head with Seth Rogan's comedy sequel 'Ted 2' which is tipped for release the same day.
