Joel Madden and Nicole Richie are to emigrate to Australia.

The Good Charlotte is currently Down Under with his wife and their two children, Harlow, four, and two-year-old Sparrow, while he films the Australian version of 'The Voice' and he is so taken with the country, he wants to make the move permanent.

Joel - who normally resides in Los Angeles - told Australian radio station 2DayFM: ''It's like home away from home. I would love citizenship, I've always talked about it. It's my favourite country in the world.

''We love it here, our kids love it here. Also, people are kind of getting used to us being here which is cool because it's a little bit more like a neighbour.''

The couple are said to have been looking at schools in the Sydney area to send Harlow and Sparrow to if they do decide to move.

Fashion designer Nicole recently said she had fallen in love with Australia and wanted to spend more time in Sydney.

She said: ''We're going to be out here for a while, both of us love it. Sydney is my favourite city, we're definitely going to be looking to spend more time here, what's not to love!''
