Scottish actor John Hannah has helped his homeland celebrate the 100th anniversary of Edinburgh Zoo by launching a newly renovated animal enclosure.
The Sliding Doors star is taking part in the commemorative events on Monday (22Jul13) to mark 100 years since the facility opened its gates to the public.
He has already narrated Animal Magic, a new Bbc documentary on the tourist attraction's history, and has now got up-close-and-personal with the zoo's furry residents by launching a newly refurbished koala enclosure.
The renovated Koala Territory is home to the only koalas in the U.K. Hannah also cooled off from the British summer heatwave by joining a colony of penguins in their own enclosure.
