Fact: Matthew Broderick and Molly Ringwald presented a very moving tribute to late filmmaker John Hughes at the Oscars and then joined their fellow 'Brat Pack' stars Ally Sheedy, Jon Cryer, Judd Nelson and Anthony Michael-Hall and reclusive former child star MACauley Culkin onstage for recollections about working with the director. The group then saluted Hughes' family, who were in the audience at the 82nd Academy Awards.

Fact: Death Cab For Cutie performed a tribute to late moviemaker John Hughes at the Critics Choice Movie Awards in Hollywood on Friday night (15Jan10). The cult band covered Don't You (Forget About Me) - the theme to Hughes' Brat Pack film The Breakfast Club. John Krasinski and Amy Poehler also took part in the tribute, dressed as Pretty In Pink characters Andie Walsh and Phil 'Duckie' Dale. Hughes suffered a heart attack and died last year (09).

Fact: FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF star Matthew Broderick and Vince Vaughn were among mourners at the private funeral of film writer/director John Hughes in Lake Forest, Illinois on Tuesday (11Aug09). The beloved filmmaker died from a heart attack on Thursday (06Aug09). He was 59.
