Veteran poet and activist John Sinclair is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his famed Freedom Rally with a special event in London in memory of John Lennon.
The protest, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, brought together a gallery of left-leaning celebrities including Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono, Stevie Wonder, singer/songwriter Bob Seger, and Allen Ginsberg.
It was sparked by Sinclair's arrest and 10-year jail term in 1969 for giving two marijuana joints to an undercover cop.
Sinclair will host a one-off event in London in June (12) in memory of Lennon, which will include a performance by '60s rockers The Deviants and a question-and-answer session with drug smuggler-turned-author Howard Marks.
