John Stamos has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

The 'Fuller House' actor was arrested in June after police officers were alerted to the fact he'd been drinking when he started driving erratically along Santa Monica Boulevard and has now been formally charged with a misdemeanour count of driving under the influence of drugs.

He will be arraigned tomorrow (16.10.15) and could face up to six months in jail if he is convicted.

Following his arrest - which subsequently saw him hospitalised for an undisclosed condition - the 52-year-old actor underwent a stint in rehab.

And the 'Grandfathered' actor - whose beloved mother Loretta Phillips Stamos died in September 2014 - said recently his arrest was a ''turning point'' and he now feels better than he has for years.

He said: ''I've had a rough year with my mom dying, so it all came to a head, and it was a turning point.

''You either continue on that path - and some of it's fun, but a lot of it's not - or there's this other thing, this golden opportunity sitting there with all this work and all this goodwill that you have going for you. That's the key. I feel better than I've felt in a decade.''
