Robert Evans is returning to executive produce the project, based on the Western romantic drama starring Travolta and Debra Winger.

Hustle and Flow filmmaker Craig Brewer has been tapped to write and direct the pilot, as well as executive produce the series for America's Fox network.

Like the film, the planned TV series will also feature the star-crossed relationship between Travolta and Winger's characters amid the backdrop of rodeos and line dancing clubs in Texas.
