Johnny Depp will return to the U.S for surgery after injuring his hand.
Johnny Depp has sustained an injury to his hand on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and will return to the United States for surgery. Depp was not thought to be on-set at the time of the injury and production is expected to be "minimally impacted" , according to an insider who spoke to the Wrap.

A spokesman for Disney confirmed the injury though said it would not affect the intended release date of July 7, 2017.
The fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie began shooting last month and is scheduled to wrap in the summer. Filmed entirely at Village Roadshaw Studios and on locations in Queensland, Australia, the movie sees Depp return as Captain Jack Sparrow alongside Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites and Golshifteh Farahani.

In Pirates 5, Depp plays a down-on-his-luck Sparrow who finds the odds stacked against him when deadly ghost pirates led by his own nemesis Captain Salazar (Bardem) escape from the Devil's Triangle. Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artefact that gives its possessor total control over the seas.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and written by Jeff Nathason. Executive producersare Chad Oman, Joe Caracciolo and Brigham Taylor.
Depp recently completed work on the London crime drama London Fields and Disney's Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass. He also star in Scott Cooper's Whitey Bulger biopic and Black Mass.
