Rocker Jon Bon Jovi was left touched by the generosity of one young fan who recently donated $400 (£250) to his Soul Kitchen restaurant in New Jersey, so those left homeless and desperate by superstorm Sandy could eat.
The star's eatery has been packed every night since the storm struck last week (29Oct12) and the rocker wanted to switch up the menu to give the needy a change, but he didn't have the cash to hand to solve the problem.
An 11-year-old "angel" came to the rescue with cash she had raised on a street corner, selling candy.
During an appearance on U.S. Tv talk show Katie on Monday (05Nov12), the rocker recalled, "A little 11-year-old girl by the name of Alexa walks in with her parents and says, 'Sandy for Candy was an idea I had on the street corner and we didn't get to give or get Halloween candy so I sold it on street corners and I made $400 that we wanted to affect change so we're bringing it to Soul Kitchen.'
"That $400 went directly to the lady who paid for the turkeys... A little angel just walked into the kitchen and then just disappeared just as fast as that. You need 400 bucks, 400 bucks comes and that's the beauty of (giving)."
