The Jonas Brothers are on the verge of breaking up due to a conflict within the band.

They have recently cancelled their upcoming tour, two days before it was set to commence in Pennsylvania.

According to PEOPLE, their potential split stems from the three brothers heading in different directions, musically.

Their spokesman, Jesse Derris, told PEOPLE exclusively "There is a deep rift within the band, there was a big a disagreement over their music direction."

Another spokesperson from Derris & Company confirmed to USA Today that the 19-date tour cancellation "stems from creative differences."

The trio were expected to release their 5th studio album, 'V', in 2013. Two tracks off the new set, 'Pom Pom' and 'First Time' were released earlier this year but now it "remains to be seen" when 'V' will hit the stores.

The brothers have been doing their own projects in recent years, Nick and Joe kicked-off their own solo careers whilst Kevin starred in a reality show on E! called 'Married to a Jonas'. However there was never any indication that the band would suffer from this or they were heading in different directions.

TMZ reported that a source close to the band told them the rift began over the release of their next group of songs, as each member had their own vision for the band's future, from pop to hard rock. They don't want to release any new material because they feel their style will be disarranged.

The cancellation for the 19 date tour may be a sign that the band is headed for a breakup. Fans of the trio will be hoping they can rediscover their brotherly love that earned them a nomination for a Grammy and a win for the Breakthrough Artist award at the American Music Awards in 2008.

Their tour which was slated to start of Friday 11th October will refund all the purchases made by ticket holders.
