I Smile Back Trailer

Laney Brooks seems to be living the American Dream. A beautiful house with two gorgeous children inside and a supportive husband who'll do anything for her. But even this isn't enough to fade the black cloud that continues to hang over her. She is powerless to her own erratic and uninhibited behaviour, losing herself to drug addiction, drinking away each night and spending the night with strangers on a regular basis. Even despite this, she's more scared than your average person might be of losing everything she has, but is reluctant to keep taking her medication and goes against her husband's insistence. She has more personal problems affecting her too, with her estranged father coming back into her life, but this is a demon that she has to battle alone - she just hopes she doesn't lose her family in the meantime.

Laurel Hester is a high-ranking New Jersey police detective who is hugely respected at work. While she never fails to earn recognition for her police services, she also manages to catch the eye of a young woman almost 20 years her senior. Stacie Andree's career is less high-flying but the pair find themselves connecting over their shared idyllic fantasies of a home and true love. However, their dreams are about to be shattered when Hester is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, but she wishes to soften the blow by passing on her pension benefits to her Andree, so that she can afford to continue living in their new home. However, under Ocean County laws this is not possible for domestic partners - only married couples, and this is pre-marriage equality reforms. The couple implore the New Jersey Board of Chosen Freeholders to help sort this issue out, but as Hester grows ever weaker, it seems they're running out of time. With the help of Hester's supportive colleague Dane Wells and a gay Jewish activist named Steven Goldstein (the founder of Garden State Equality), they set out to defend the rights of same-sex couples across the state.

Julianna MarguilesJulianna Marguiles Persuaded Josh Charles To Stay On 'The Good WIfe', Briefly

"I just want to clarify because I think it's an important distinction," Charles said during a panel discussion this week. "I didn't ask to be let out of anything. My contract was up, and it was time to be thinking about the people close to me. I did a lot of soul searching. I think it's a very long season doing a network television show, and somewhere in year four, I just felt burnt out. I was ready for something different. That's no reflection for how I feel about the show, it's just more of what I want to do with my life."

S.W.A.T. Review

Terrible
Is it that Samuel L. Jackson's character is nicknamed "Hondo"? Could it be the sequence where Colin Farrell goes running on the beach, appears to flirt with a dog and later explosively vomits, all of it set to the Rolling Stones' "Shattered"? Or maybe it's the time that the cast of S.W.A.T. all bust out with a rendition of the theme song from the TV show that the movie itself was based on. (Imagine Tom Cruise humming the Mission: Impossible theme while breaking into Langley.) You can pick from a variety of primary causes, but the end result is the same: S.W.A.T. is such an abominable waste of time and resources that I barely know where to begin.

There's plenty of blame to go around, but it should probably start with the script by David Ayer and David McKenna, which starts with your basic bank hostage scenario that can only be solved by (cue music) the S.W.A.T. team. Hotdoggers Jim Street (Colin Farrell) and Brian Gamble (Jeremy Renner) move into the bank, disobeying orders, and Gamble ends up shooting (nonfatally) one of the hostages. Street gets demoted out of S.W.A.T., while Gamble quits the department entirely, holding a serious grudge.
