The Pearl Harbor star bought the Victorian-style house, built in 1887, in 2002 for just shy of $2.4 million (£1.6 million).

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports the actor put the fully restored, four-bedroom St.Paul mansion on the market in January (15), and an unnamed buyer has paid $2.3 million (£1.5 million) for it.

The sale closed on 10 June (15), according to a certificate of real estate value recently made public.

Hartnett's property news comes hours after his representative confirmed to the New York Post that the actor is expecting his first child with actress girlfriend Tamsin Egerton.
