Josh Hutcherson has ''polite stalkers''.

'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' star has amassed a huge fan base thanks to his role as Peeta Mellark in the hit movie franchise, but he was surprised by the manners of two young girls who showed up at his house.

He said: ''Last Christmas, the doorbell rings after dinner, I go get the door and there are two young girls and their mother crying. I have no idea how they found out where I live.

''They told me that they drove down from Chicago on the chance that I might be home. Then they watched me through the window and said, 'We were waiting for you to finish eating.' So they were polite stalkers!''

Like his alter-ego Peeta, who is a baker, the 21-year-old hunk admits he is a dab-hand in the kitchen and often whips up tasty treats for his friends, family and co-stars.

He added to Bliss magazine: ''When we were filming in Asheville [North Carolina], I made cake balls, where you bake a cake and then break it into little bits and then you mix them with icing and stick them on a stick and then you cover that in icing. It's delicious. I also make a pretty mean French apple pie!''
