Josh Lucas has been cast in Clint Eastwood movie 'J Edgar'.

The blond actor - who was recently announced as a likely candidate to play a lead role in 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' - will play the role of Charles Lindbergh in the biopic about Federal Bureau of Investigations' founder J. Edgar Hoover, Deadline.com reports.

Lindbergh - a famous pilot from the era - had a child who was kidnapped at the time, with Bruno Hauptmann found guilty of snatching the baby.

However, the conviction caused controversy when it was claimed evidence was tampered with and Hoover sent in FBI investigators in to look into the allegations.

Dame Judi Dench has also been cast in the biopic as Hoover's mother.

The role of titular character is being played by Leonardo DiCaprio, with 'Gossip Girl' star Ed Westwick also recently cast as an FBI agent tasked with writing Hoover's biography, only to uncover things his boss would rather be kept quiet.

The movie is expected to be filmed later this month or in February.
