Known for his sci-fi antics – fans of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Firefly raise your hands – Joss Whdeon has proved that he’s capable of almost anything by taking on Much Ado About Nothing and, most importantly, succeeding. This is a man who co-wrote Tory Story, after all. “From its very first scenes, Mr. Whedon's film crackles with a busy, slightly wayward energy that recalls the classic romantic sparring of the studio era,” write The New York Times in their 5-star review. According to The Associated Press, “Moviegoers will likely have few better options this summer for a good romantic comedy,” and it’s “A slick, postmodern "Much Ado" that delights so much it's very nearly as you like it.” Whedon’s stock is still rising, which, considering he created one of the most popular shows of all time sixteen years ago, is an impressive feat.

Overall, 79% Rotten Tomatoes grants Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing – which was shot in just 12 days - that oh-so-coveted ‘certified fresh status’. Fans of the writer/director will be looking forward to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – a new TV pilot coming soon, and The Avengers 2 – the follow up to the highly acclaimed and financially proficient Avengers.
