Veteran rockers Journey have axed their Tuesday night (30Oct12) concert in Brooklyn, New York as Hurricane Sandy hurtles towards America's East Coast.

The massive storm has already caused production on a slew of Big Apple-based Tv shows and films like Russell Crow's Noah to cease, while the Big Apple premiere for Keira Knightley's Anna Karenina and gigs by Phish frontman Trey Anastasio, rockers The xx, rapper Ghostface Killah and comedian Louis C.K. have also fallen victim to the heavy wind and rain.

Now Journey have scrapped an upcoming show at the Barclays Center.

A message on the venue's Facebook.com page reads: "Journey with special guests Pat Benatar featuring Neil Geraldo and Loverboy, scheduled for October 30th at Barclays Center, is cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy."

Tuesday's concert isn't the only tour date Journey have had to skip - their show in Lafayette, Louisiana on 17 October (12) was also axed after singer Arnel Pineda fell ill.

All Broadway shows have also been suspended as residents on the East Coast brace themselves for the worst of the hurricane, which is expected to make landfall on Monday night (29Oct12).
