Three more big name sponsors have pulled their advertising from ‘The View’ following jokes made by hosts Joy Behar and Michelle Collins about the nursing profession earlier this week. According to TMZ, Party City, Snuggle and McCormick Spice have all ditched the show, following Johnson & Johnson and Eggland’s Best who pulled their advertising on Thursday.

On the McCormick Facebook page the spice company wrote, ‘Thank you for expressing your concerns. Like you, we also value and admire nurses, so we have paused advertising on the daytime television show in question.’ Snuggle have also issued a statement in praise of nurses.
On Friday’s edition of the show, hosts tried to do some damage control by featuring “real-life nurses, giving us a look at the life-saving role they play every day.” Host Joy Behar then opened the show by saying, “We’ve been talking a lot about nurses this week, and today ‘The View’ is going to celebrate nurses. They are here… and we can’t wait to talk about all the great work they do.”
The controversy started when Behar and co-host Collins made fun of Miss America contestant, Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson who spoke during the pageant about being a nurse during the talent round. Discussing Johnson’s nurse’s scrubs and stethoscope, Behar asked "Why does she have a doctor's stethoscope on her neck?”
Co-host Michelle Collins also remarked, “She basically read her emails out loud and surprisingly did not win. She (Johnson) treats patients with Alzheimer’s, which is not funny, but you have to Google it (her performance).”
The pair’s comments caused upset and anger among nurses, who started the hashtag campaign #NursesUnite, to show their support for Johnson. Speaking to Fox News, a rep for National Nurses United commented, "'The View' trivialised the profession of nursing, referring to the nurses scrubs as a costume. They also demeaned the role of the RN by referring to a stethoscope as a doctor’s instrument."
