Enterprising former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing is planning to build a hotel and leisure complex on land he owns in the English countryside.
The rocker, who already boasts a golf course on his sprawling Astbury Hall estate in Shropshire, is hoping to make a start on the ambitious 63-room hotel, restaurant and spa later this year (12).
He tells local newspaper the Shropshire Star, "I am speaking to various corporations about investment and I'm optimistic we can start pushing through with the plans for development this year.
"The next step is putting together all the costing of everything, which includes the golf, practice areas and purpose built clubhouse - as well as the hotel, leisure and spa facilities. I'm 60 years old now so I really want to get things completed."
Downing quit Judas Priest last year (11) and he has been replaced by Richie Faulkner.
The rock icon insists he will "never, ever disclose" why he felt the need to leave.
