CBS has announced renewals for eight dramas, a comedy and several reality shows. The broadcaster has green-lit a sixth season of Hawaii Five-O and Blue Bloods, a seventh season of NCIS: Los Angeles, a fifth season of Person of Interest, a seventh season of The Good Wife and a fourth season of Elementary.

Most of the renewals, which also included NCIS and Criminal Minds, were no-brainers for CBS. On the drama front, the broadcaster also picked up CSI: Cyber. The announcement comes after CBS previously announced renewals of Madam Secretary, Scorpion and NCIS: New Orleans.

On the comedy side, The Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly and Mom were all renewed.

As mentioned, most of the renewals were easy decisions for the head honchos at CBS - none more so than The Good Wife. Series star Julianna Marguiles just won the Emmy award last year for Best Actress in a Drama and the programme is already gaining Emmy buzz or maintaining its hugely high standards throughout its six year run.

Person of Interest, which has reportedly got a 13-episode order, was a breakout hit for CBS when it launched in September 2011. Created by Jonathan Nolan and J.J Abrams, the show revolves around John Reese (Jim Caviezel), a former CIA officer, who is recruited by mysterious billionaire Harold Finch to prevent violent crimes in New York City. It averaged 14.05 million viewers for its third season.
