The actress portrays a young 1970s music executive discovering punk music for the first time, and falling for the charismatic frontman of raucous unsigned act The Nasty Bits, fronted by Kip Stevens (Jagger).

In the pilot episode, which aired in America on Sunday (14Feb16), Temple's Jamie Vine character bedded Stevens, and the actress revealed the energetic sex scene was shot on her birthday.

"I think it will be one of the most memorable days of my entire life," she told late night host James Corden on Tuesday (16Feb16). "It was my 25th birthday. I had a pretty hardcore sex scene with Mick Jagger's son, directed by Martin Scorsese.

"When we got there that morning Marty (Scorsese) said, 'You're going to have to be fully nude...' It was memorable. It was an awkward angle from where the camera had to be put and I had to get off the top of him (Jagger)."

Temple was glad the director managed to cut the more R-rated scenes and preserve her modesty: "I got promised that that specific moment wouldn't be used, which thank God it wasn't."
